Michael began his career at Google Research, working at the forefront of academic and industry research. In what would eventually become the foundation of the AI revolution, he had the privilege of working with the inventors of technologies like deep learning, internet protocol, generative adversarial network, and countless more. After nearly a decade of spearheading strategic efforts to accelerate the development of those technologies, he left Google to found Apple’s AI/ML Research in Academia team. There he created new pathways and structures to expand Apple’s presence in the AI research ecosystem, drove strategy in the company’s investment in AI research, and led partnerships with the world’s top universities.
